Description
Desirable Near-Gem 1894 Morgan Dollar
1894 $1 MS64 NGC. The 1894 had the second-lowest mintage of any regular issue Morgan dollar with just 110,000 pieces struck. Examples are scarce in all grades, while Mint State specimens are quite challenging. Gems are very rare, and NGC reports just four pieces finer than the present coin (8/09). Attractive rose and golden toning visits the perimeter of this mostly silver-gray specimen. Dazzling cartwheel luster complements the boldly struck design elements. A carefully preserved piece with great eye appeal.(Registry values: P8, N2998)Coin Index Numbers: (NGC ID# 255V, PCGS# 7228, GSID# 7578)
