Description

1894-S $1 MS64 NGC. Following the repeal of the silver purchase provisions of the Bland-Allison act, silver dollar production slowed dramatically, and for the period from 1893 to 1895, the 1894-S, with a mintage of just 1.26 million pieces, had the second-highest production for any issue. This crisply struck near-Gem shines beneath rich plum and orange toning over the outer areas and silver-gray over the centers.(Registry values: P6, N1793)
