Description
1894-S Morgan Dollar, MS64
Lustrous and Semiprooflike
1894-S $1 MS64 PCGS. A high-end near-Gem example, this MS64
Morgan displays lively cartwheel luster and semiprooflike fields on
mostly brilliant surfaces. A loupe shows faint clouds of peach and
lilac skirting the edges, and the strike is sharp aside from
slightly soft centers and roller marks around Liberty's cheek and
over her ear (as struck). A few scattered marks prevent this
attractive 1894-S from full Gem status, but the lustrous eye appeal
is unaffected. Finer 1894-S examples are scarce, though even in
MS64 this semikey San Francisco issue is widely sought
after.(Registry values: P6, N1793)Coin Index Numbers: (NGC ID# 255X, PCGS# 7232, Greysheet# 7618)
