Description

1894-S Morgan Dollar, MS64
Lustrous and Semireflective

1894-S $1 MS64 PCGS. The Financial Crisis of 1893 limited San Francisco to a mintage of just 100,000 Morgans, but the branch mint rebounded in 1894 with 1.26 million pieces. While plentiful through MS64, 1894-S Gems are elusive and finer examples are rare. Generally brilliant with light splashes of almond-gray, this Choice Morgan features luminous devices on moderately reflective fields. Softness is seen over Liberty's ear, otherwise the devices are sharp. Only light marks on the obverse attest to the grade.(Registry values: P6, N1793)
