Description

1895-O Morgan Dollar, AU58
Conditionally Rare in Mint State

1895-O $1 AU58 NGC. VAM-3. The 1895-O endured two major political initiatives, the first which was the repeal of the Sherman Silver Purchase Act in 1893 that curbed production to just 450,000 pieces. Next, The Pittman Act of 1918 authorized the conversion (melting) of up to 350 million silver dollars, leaving the 1895-O conditionally rare in Mint State. This near-Mint Morgan exhibits fully brilliant surfaces and retains most of its original mint luster. Moderate friction on the device high points limits the grade.(Registry values: P9, N991)
