Near-Mint 1895-S Silver Dollar
VAM-3, S Over Tilted S, Hot 50
1895-S $1 AU58 NGC. VAM-3. A Hot 50 Variety. The mintmark
was initially entered at an awkward, tilted angle, to the left of
its proper position. This variety is one of two premium 1895-S
VAMs; the other is the VAM-4 S Over Horizontal S. Of course, any
1895-S is desirable in AU58, as it is a low-mintage issue. This
piece is lustrous and lightly toned, with attractive surfaces and
minor central incompleteness of strike.(Registry values: P8, N991)Coin Index Numbers: (NGC ID# 255Z, PCGS# 7238, GSID# 7622)
