Description

1895-S $1 MS63 PCGS. There are only two circulation-strike Morgan dollars for the year 1895: this S-mint issue and its New Orleans counterpart. The latter is largely uncollectible in Mint State, leaving the 1895-S as the only accessible option for collectors putting together high-grade date sets. This is a softly lustrous Select Uncirculated example with deeper golden accents on the reverse than on the obverse. The centers are incomplete, but detail is good elsewhere. Abrasions are unobtrusive. More than 29 grade points finer than average.
