Description

1895-S Morgan Dollar, MS63 Prooflike
Low-Mintage Branch Mint Issue

1895-S $1 MS63 Prooflike PCGS. Due to the lingering effects of the Panic of 1893 and the repeal of the Sherman Silver Purchase Act, there was little commercial demand for silver dollars in 1895. Accordingly, the San Francisco Mint struck only a small production of 400,000 pieces that year. This impressive Select example offers sharply detailed frosty design elements and lightly marked surfaces that include deeply reflective prooflike fields. Population: 22 in 63 Prooflike, 17 finer (6/23).(Registry values: P8, N2998)
