Impressive 1895-S Dollar, MS64
1895-S $1 MS64 PCGS. The 1895-S had a relatively low mintage of only 400,000 coins and is one of the key San Francisco issues in the series. Gem examples are virtually unobtainable. Splashes of dusty red and purple-gray toning accent the surfaces of boldly struck near-Gem. A few wispy grazes do not distract. Flashy luster fills the fields and enhances the wonderful eye appeal. PCGS has certified just 29 pieces finer (7/09).From The Thrifty Scot Collection.(Registry values: P8, N2998)
