1895-S/S $1 AU53 ANACS. VAM-3. A Hot 50 Variety. The mintmark was initially entered with too far northwest with a wild tilt to the left. The mint worker made a partially successful attempt to efface the errant mintmark, then repunched it in proper position. But any 1895-dated dollar is desirable, regardless of mintmark or VAM variety. Lightly toned and partly lustrous.(Registry values: P8, N991)Coin Index Numbers: (NGC ID# 255Z, PCGS# 7238, GSID# 7622)
