Description
VAM-3 1895-S S/S Morgan, MS62
A Hot 50 Variety
1895-S/S $1 MS62 PCGS. VAM-3. A Hot 50 Variety. The remains
of an original tilted S are visible as a curved "flag" to the top
left of the subsequent mintmark, with a curve inside the later
punch. The satiny surfaces are untoned, save for a faint ring of
gold around part of the reverse rim. A small patch of reeding marks
in front of the chin helps determine the grade, along with minor
abrasions scattered on the face and neck. The Hot 50 book by Jeff
Oxman was reprinted in 2008.(Registry values: P8, N1793)Coin Index Numbers: (NGC ID# 255Z, PCGS# 7238, GSID# 7622)
