Description

1896-O Morgan Dollar, MS62
Peripherally Toned, CAC

1896-O $1 MS62 PCGS. CAC. The 1896-O production of 4.9 million pieces does not equate to expected Mint State availability from such a sizeable mintage, and the issue is conditionally rare in Gem and finer. This MS62 exhibits typical weakness on the central motifs, lightly diminished luster, and grade-consistent abrasions. Examples with vibrant toning are the exception, however, and this CAC-endorsed Morgan displays lovely almond-gray patina framed in an iridescent ring of ice-blue highlighted with splashes of lavender and amber.
