1897-S $1 MS66 Prooflike NGC. Though the 1897-S is not particularly scarce with prooflike fields (as about 20% of the certified population is so classified), such pieces are elusive in better-than-Gem grades. This moderately reflective piece is predominantly silver-gray with only faint haze and a tiny spot of violet toning near the L in PLURIBUS.
