Description

1897-S Dollar, MS67
Two Finer at PCGS

1897-S $1 MS67 PCGS. The 1897-S is a high-mintage issue within the Morgan dollar series, struck to an extent exceeding 5.8 million coins, but most survive today either circulated or in the lower Mint State grades. This Superb Gem is among just 23 such at PCGS, which has seen but two pieces numerically finer (6/15). This piece hosts thoroughgoing mint luster on pristine silver-white surfaces that are uniformly frosty and show a slight glint of cinnamon at the rims.
