1898-S $1 MS65 NGC. The majority of Mint State survivors from this scarcer San Francisco Mint issue came from the famous Redfield Hoard. This Gem example displays scintillating cartwheel luster in the fields, and essentially untoned surfaces that reveal a slight degree of gold color near the center of the reverse.(Registry values: P5, N1793)Coin Index Numbers: (NGC ID# 256A, PCGS# 7256, GSID# 7635)
