Description

1899-S $1 MS65 PCGS. With a mintage of under 2.6 million pieces, the 1899-S is hardly as ubiquitous as earlier S-mint issues, though Gems are available. This well-defined and lustrous example is largely silver-gray with a touch of milky patina over the obverse. If not for an abrasion at Liberty's forehead, this piece could have achieved an even finer grade.(Registry values: P5, N1793)
