Description

Beautiful 1899-S Dollar, MS67

1899-S $1 MS67 PCGS. The strike is solid bordering on decisive for this essentially brilliant Superb Gem, and the exquisitely preserved fields have a slight watery quality that lends them subtle reflectivity. Hints of frostiness grace the highest parts of the design. Striking visual appeal in all respects. This S-mint Morgan dollar issue of under 2.6 million pieces, though only moderately elusive in the context of the series, is substantially less available at the MS67 level than a number of its peers. Just one MS67 piece appears in the NGC Census Report, and the present piece is part of a group of eight so certified by PCGS, with none finer at either service (11/08).
