Memorable 1901 Morgan, MS63
1901 $1 MS63 NGC. The 1901 Morgan dollar is on a short list of issues that are available in circulated grades but almost impossible to find in the higher Mint State grades, a list that includes other memorable issues such as 1886-O, 1884-S, and 1896-O. While the 1901 Morgan dollar can occasionally be found in Select Mint State as here, at the next grade level, only one-fifth as many coins are certified at NGC and PCGS combined, and the price is apt to be three to five times as much. This is a memorable example for the grade, with appealing silver-white surfaces with just a hint of color and no singular distractions.
