Description
1902-S $1 MS65 PCGS. A spectacular, semiprooflike Gem. A loupe locates a few minor abrasions, and at first glance the reverse appears perfect. A whisper of gold toning around the rims accents the nearly brilliant and lightly frosted fields. The strike is sharp save for slight lack of definition on the hair. The 1902-S has one of the lowest mintages of the later Morgan dollars and it is seldom seen in grades finer than Gem. PCGS has certified only 30 pieces finer (6/08), some of which are undoubtedly resubmissions. (Registry values: P6, N1793)Coin Index Numbers: (NGC ID# 256P, PCGS# 7282, GSID# 7656)
