1902-S Morgan Dollar, MS66
High-End Piece, Seldom Seen Finer
1902-S $1 MS66 PCGS. With a moderate mintage of 1.53 million
Morgans, the 1902-S is plentiful through MS64 but finer pieces are
elusive. This is a lustrous and attractive Premium Gem, and PCGS
reports only seven numerically finer Morgans (3/26). The strike is
sharp but exhibits typical faint roller marks on the obverse high
points. Subtle hues of champagne-gold on the rims surround the
brilliant central surfaces as the frosty luster releases a lively
cartwheel effect. Only trivial marks account for the
