Old-Time Patina
1893-S $1 Fine 12 NGC. VAM-2. The 1893-S issue is a
difficult acquisition in all grades as it is the key date for the
series. This piece displays an alluring old-time patina akin to
deep gunmetal-gray luster. The strike and detailing for the grade
are excellent with defined upper hair and decent remaining detail
within the wreath. There are some small marks, though none are
egregious to this covetable example for this accessible key date.
