Scarce Reverse of 1879 Variant
1878 7TF $1 Reverse of 1879 MS65+ Deep Mirror Prooflike PCGS.
CAC. The seven tailfeathers 1878 Morgan dollar is several times
scarce in Deep Mirror Prooflike quality with the Reverse of 1879
than it is with the Reverse of 1878. This issue is scarce in MS64
Deep Mirror Prooflike, and Gem examples are notably rare. The
present coin is Plus designated, being one of just three such coins
in this grade with Deep Mirror fields, and none are finer (11/21).
Beautifully preserved, frosty devices are devoid of bothersome
abrasions, and the glimmering fields exhibit only the faintest
marks under a loupe. Much of each side is brilliant, save for a
tinge of golden warmth around the outer borders. Population: 6 in
65 (3 in 65+) Deep Mirror Prooflike, 0 finer. CAC: 1 in 65, 0 finer
