Description
1881-CC VAM-6 Dollar
MS66+ Deep Mirror Prooflike
1881-CC $1 MS66+ Deep Mirror Prooflike PCGS. CAC. VAM-6.
With about half of its mintage part of the GSA sales, the 1881-CC
is available in quantities far above expectations from the low,
296,000-piece mintage. Even Premium Gem pieces are merely scarce,
although examples become rare in Superb Gem condition. Deep Mirror
Prooflikes follow a similar trajectory, although in much smaller
numbers. This brilliant, Plus-graded Premium Gem with Deep Mirror
Prooflike surfaces also displays CAC endorsement. Flashy-mirrored
fields surround the frosted, nearly mark-free portrait of Liberty.
A few light marks are seen on the glass-smooth surfaces, but they
are minor in both number a size. Tilted at an angle, the coin
displays profound white-on-black contrast. PCGS reports just two
numerically finer Deep Mirror Prooflikes. Population: 72 in 66 (5
in 66+) Deep Mirror Prooflike, 2 finer. CAC: 8 in 66, 0 finer
(3/20).(Registry values: P4, N2998)Coin Index Numbers: (NGC ID# 2547, PCGS# 97127, Greysheet# 7723)
Weight: 26.73 grams
