1881-O $1 Pummeled Eye, VAM-1D, MS64 Prooflike PCGS Secure. CAC. A Hit List 40 Variety. Also known as the "Flaky Eye" variety, VAM-1D has a multilayered appearance near the upper left border of Liberty's eye. This is the finest of only three Prooflike examples certified as VAM-1D by PCGS (4/18). Light gold toning visits this flashy and nicely struck near-Gem. Aside from a solitary tick on the cheekbone, the surfaces show only minimal marks.Coin Index Numbers: (Variety PCGS# 412602, Base PCGS# 7129, Greysheet# 374256)
