Description

1881-S Dollar, Brilliant MS68

1881-S $1 MS68 PCGS. The San Francisco Mint was at its quality peak in the early-to-mid 1880s, when millions upon millions of Morgan dollars were struck to fulfill government mandate dictated by the silver lobby. This brilliant Superb Gem exemplifies an ideal silver dollar, with brilliant-white surfaces that are virtually unblemished, and flashy cartwheel luster. A sharp strike punctuates the high-quality surfaces, which are smoothly pristine and show glimpses of reflectivity throughout the fields. PCGS reports just two numerically finer examples (11/18).
