Description

1882-CC Dollar, MS67+
Only One Coin Certified Finer

1882-CC $1 MS67+ PCGS. CAC. Frosted mint luster illuminates golden-orange and ice-blue toning around the borders of this magnificently preserved Carson City dollar. Liberty's cheek and the surrounding fields are remarkably smooth and unmarked. As often seen on the 1882-CC, Liberty's ear and the hair strands immediately above the ear are a touch soft, as are the eagle's breast feathers. All else is sharp, and both sides show notable die clashing. The high-end Superb Gem grade is virtually unimprovable, since PCGS has certified a single coin numerically finer (an MS68 example). Nor has NGC seen one finer. Population: 11 in 67+, 1 finer. CAC: 27 in 67, 0 finer (2/20).
