Description

1882-O Dollar, Lightly Toned MS66
Finest Collectible Grade for the Issue

1882-O $1 MS66 PCGS. Seldom is the 1882-O dollar found in this high grade, and most collectors can forget about trying to acquire a finer example in MS67. Those come on the market once every four or five years. This Premium Gem is remarkably clean, showing a couple of microscopic ticks on the cheek and a small handful of shallow, undistracting grazes in the right obverse field -- all in-line with the grade. Although satiny and largely brilliant, traces of gold and lavender-gray patina appear over each side. Population: 76 in 66 (5 in 66+), 7 finer (6/18).(Registry values: P3, N2998)

Coin Index Numbers: (NGC ID# 254C, PCGS# 7136, Greysheet# 7510)

Weight: 26.73 grams

Metal: 90% Silver, 10% Copper
