Description

1904-O Dollar, MS67
Sharp Over the Ear, Tied for Finest

1904-O $1 MS67 NGC. Excluding Plus and Star coins, this Superb Gem 1904-O is tied for numerical finest at both services combined (10/15). Massive Treasury releases in the early 1960s made what used to be a New Orleans scarcity readily available in all grades except MS67 or finer. The surfaces of the current example show a pale ivory-gold hue over semiprooflike fields. Liberty's cheek is clear, with a pair of tiny marks over the eye only visible with a lens. The strike is remarkably sharp for even this usually well-produced O-Mint issue.(Registry values: P1, N2998)
