Description
Utrecht. Ducaton (Silver Rider) 1761, KM92, D-1832, Delm1031, MS64 Millennia collection NGC, Choice UNC, another bold strike, this one without any doubling but truly crisp in the designs, somewhat reflective surfaces blessed with delightful iridescent silvery gold toning showing bluish hues, the rims fairly high and essentially mark free, and the surfaces having tiny black flecks, which some may think of as "distractions" but in reality they attest to the original nature of the piece. These riders were made for decades in various Dutch states, as everyone knows; most were used, some were saved, but few escaped the ravages of time looking so superb as this great coin. Sold for $4,255 in the Millennia sale.Auction Info
