Willem I Proof 10 Cents 1818-U PR62 PCGS, Utrecht mint, KM53, Schulman-202. Torch and Caduceus privy marks. One of just 48 test specimens produced, and extremely rare thus. The sole element detracting from the certified grade is scattered hairlines in the fields, though these are only visible under close inspection, the effect to the naked eye being one of unbeatable sleekness. Considerable Proof reflectivity, toned to vibrant golds and a smokier patina shrouding the sharply-rendered devices. This may be the only example seen at auction for at least two decades, and we can only assume it is likely to be off the market for a similar amount of time. Of significant rarity and undeniable beauty.
