Beautiful Dutch Double Ducat
Utrecht. Provincial gold 2 Ducat 1754 MS62 NGC, Utrecht
mint, KM42.2, Delm-962, Fr-283. 7.00gm. By Joh. E. Novisadi
(Mintmaster) and Cornelis van Swinderen. Knight standing to right
with sword over his shoulder in his right hand and a bundle of
arrows in his left hand; date divided to either side / MO:ORD:/
PROVIN:/ FOEDER:/ BELG: AD/ LEG:IMP. Inscription within ornate
square frame. Dutch Double Ducats older than the Batavian Republic
or often associated with shipwrecks such as the Vliegenthart or
Akerendam, so this 1754 piece is quite desirable, especially in the
Mint State assignment found here.Metal: Gold
