Description
Water-Tumbled 17-Ounce Gold Nugget
From Dunolly, Victoria, Australia
Australian 17.06 Troy Ounce Gold Nugget. Gold has served as
a form of currency for more than 5000 years and will never lose its
appeal as a store of value. In any form it has a mysterious beauty
and irresistible allure, but natural gold nuggets are perhaps its
most stunning incarnation with their infinite variety of forms and
textures. A specimen such as this is among the finest, water
tumbled from mountain to desert, its surfaces burnished to a
lustrous smoothness, but retaining a whimsical natural form of
twists and folds, concave dimpled textures and apertures. A lovely
specimen, it measures approximately 2 3/4 x 2 x 1 1/4 inches and
weighs in at 17.06 troy oz (530.6 gm).
