(1850s) Dickeson Restrike Token, Breen-1380, Judd-C1792-1, Pollock-6001, R.6, MS64 Brown NGC. The obverse features a defiant eagle perched on a rock. The reverse displays the legends "TRIAL PIECE / DESIGNED FOR / UNITED STATES / CENT. / 1792." Struck in copper with a plain edge. This private token was produced by Dr. Montroville Dickeson. The Eagle on Half Shield design was originally created by Adam Eckfeldt, which Dickeson mistakenly believed was intended for 1792 pattern cents. Both sides are glossy brown and smooth.
