Judd-C1792-1, Eagle on Half Shield Design
(1850s) Dickeson Restrike Token, Breen-1380, Judd-C1792-1,
Pollock-6001, R.6, MS64 Brown NGC. The obverse features a
defiant eagle perched on a rock. The reverse displays the legends
"TRIAL PIECE / DESIGNED FOR / UNITED STATES / CENT. / 1792." Struck
in copper with a plain edge. This private token was produced by Dr.

believed was intended for 1792 pattern cents. Both sides are glossy
brown and smooth. The usual die break is seen from the rim at 4
o'clock on the obverse nearly to the base of the rock. From The Collection of William Rau.
