    Description

Rare Copper Alloy Dupont Test Piece

(1964) P25C Pattern Quarter Dollar. P-5393, R.7. MS62 Red and Brown NGC. Struck by medalist August Frank of Philadelphia for the DuPont Corporation. DuPont was clearly interested in being a supplier of new alloy for the non-silver coinage under consideration, but was not a coining facility of and by itself. Light brown toning over considerable original red color. Heavy corrosion is visible, especially on the reverse. Envelope Included.

    Coin Index Numbers: (NGC ID# 7HV6, PCGS# 661000)
