    (1999) Martha Washington Dollar-Size Medal
    Judd-2188, Copper-Zinc Alloy, MS67

(1999) $1 Martha Washington Dollar, Judd-2188, Pollock-Unlisted, Low R.7, MS67 NGC. This 1759-dated dollar-size medal was struck in 1999 with a Martha Washington design that had been used since 1965 to test various coinage alloys. This particular piece was struck with a composition of 75% copper, 22% zinc, and 2% nickel, and bears a color similar to that of the Sacagawea dollars that debuted the following year in 2000. This piece has die markings (as made) in the obverse fields to the left and right of the portrait, seen in the form of small raised dots that form rather crudely shaped N's. The piece is well-struck and nearly pristine.
