Description
General Motors Pattern Cent, Pollock-4060
MS62 Red and Brown
(Circa 1967) General Motors Pattern Cent, Pollock-4060, MS62 Red
and Brown NGC. General Motors manufactured a high production
coinage press, but it proved too costly to maintain, and its
development was eventually abandoned. The obverse is designed much
like the Lincoln cent, with legends in similar positions. The
legends are nonsense, to avoid legal entanglements. Struck in
copper with a plain edge. Control code 26-M. A lustrous orange-gold
representative mellowed to gunmetal-gray on the cheek and on open
portions of the reverse field.
