Seldom Seen Hub or Die Trial for the 1850 Pattern Cent

1850 Cent, Appendix A in Judd, Pollock-146, R.7, PR 63 Red and Brown. A hub or die trial with the obverse simply inscribed *CENT*1850 around a circle in the center that was obviously an outline for perforation as with other cent patterns from this year. The reverse is plain except for denticles and an upset rim. Struck in a copper alloy with a plain edge. A lovely coin with subtly variegated patina laying in a thin veneer over the light olive-brown surfaces.

    Coin Index Numbers: (PCGS# 62314)
