    1850 Cent Pattern in Nickel
    Unperforated, Blank Obverse
    Judd-124g, PR64

1850 Cent, Judd-124g, Pollock-145, Low R.7, PR64 NGC. Ex: Eliasberg. The obverse is blank with the exception of denticles at the border. The reverse displays the denomination CENT at the top, the date 1850 at the bottom, and one star at each side of the center. The reverse design is similar to that used on the 1850 annular pattern cent (Judd-119, Pollock-134), but the center is not perforated. Struck in nickel with a plain edge. A rare and seldom offered dies trial issue, both sides are essentially untoned with a slight golden cast over the lower reverse. There are a few planchet voids on the obverse, but neither side displays any mentionable post-production distractions.
