    Description

1850 Three Cent Silver in Silver
    Judd-125 Original, PR66

1850 P3CS Three Cent Silver, Judd-125 Original, Pollock-147, R.4, PR66 NGC. CAC. Similar in design to the famous Judd-67 gold dollar pattern from 1836; however, the date has been moved to the obverse below the cap, and the denomination within the palm frond is expressed with a large Roman numeral III. Struck in silver with a plain edge. This outstanding representative is by far the nicest we have handled. Bright, noticeably striated surfaces are essentially untoned through the centers while displaying occasional russet and charcoal peripheral accents. Finest certified at both services.
Ex: Long Beach Signature (Heritage, 6/2004), lot 6416; Summer FUN Signature (Heritage, 7/2007), lot 2233, where it brought $15,697.50.

    Coin Index Numbers: (NGC ID# 298G, PCGS# 11536)
