    Always-Popular 1852 Ring Dollar in Silver
    Judd-138 Thin, PR63

    1852 PG$1 Gold Dollar, Judd-138 Thin, Pollock-165, Low R.7, PR63 PCGS. The obverse design consists of the legend USA above and 1852 below. The reverse features a circle of olive sprigs. Struck on an annular, thin silver planchet with a plain edge. These are restrikes of the popular ring dollar in gold, and examples are known in silver, copper, copper-nickel, and nickel. The surfaces are light, dull gray. The only mentionable spots of color are a red speck to the upper left of the A in USA and a speckling of russet in the area of the date, especially around the 1.
