    1853 E1C One Cent, Judd-149, Pollock-178, R.5--Scratched--ANACS. AU Details, Net XF40.The obverse is the same as that used to coin regular issue 1853 quarter eagles. The reverse shows the denomination ONE CENT within a laurel wreath. Struck in a German silver alloy (40 percent nickel, 40 percent copper, 20 percent zinc) with a reeded edge. The details of this piece display little appreciable wear, but a cluster of scratches on either side of the portrait adversely affect its overall appeal.
