Scarce 1853 Pattern Cent, Judd-151
1853 E1C One Cent, Judd-151, Pollock-178, R.5, PR 63 PCGS. The obverse is the same as that used to coin regular issue 1853 quarter eagles. The reverse shows the denomination ONE CENT within a laurel wreath. Struck in a nickel-copper alloy with a reeded edge. Relatively mark-free for the grade with some spotting on the reverse. Both sides are steel-gray in appearance with modest brightness in the fields.Coin Index Numbers: (NGC ID# 299K, PCGS# 11628, GSID# 12170)
