    Description

    Near-Gem 1853 One Cent Pattern, Judd-151

1853 P1C One Cent, Judd-151, Pollock-178, Low R.6, PR64 PCGS. The obverse has the regular issue design of the quarter eagle, while the reverse shows a laurel wreath with the denomination ONE CENT within the wreath. The layout for ONE CENT is awkward, with ONE too high and CENT too low. Struck in copper-nickel with a reeded edge. Well struck, the surfaces are silver-gray with a slight accent of lilac on each side.
