    Description

    1854 Cent Pattern in Copper
    Judd-160, PR65 Brown

1854 P1C One Cent, Judd-160, Pollock-187, R.4, PR65 Brown NGC. The obverse shows Liberty with a Braided Hair design and the date below, all in a plain field. The reverse has a small laurel wreath around the denomination ONE CENT with the exterior legend UNITED STATES OF AMERICA. Struck in copper with a plain edge. The fields are nicely reflective, and some of the original mint red still remains around the devices; otherwise the fields have a lovely blue-brown patina. A few specks of carbon appear in the left obverse field.
