    1854 Cent, PR63 Red and Brown
    Judd-161, Transitional Diameter

    1854 P1C One Cent, Judd-161 Original, Pollock-187, R.4, PR63 Red and Brown PCGS. The diameter is about midway between the large and small cent. The designs are similar to the contemporary large cent but smaller in scale, and there are no obverse stars. The wreath is undersized in relation to the legends. Struck in bronze with a plain edge. A medium brown representative with straw-gold and steel-blue undertones. Devoid of marks, but moderately granular near Liberty's nose. Struck from clashed dies. Encapsulated in an old green label holder.
