1855 E1C Flying Eagle Cent, Judd-171, Pollock-196, Low R.7 -- Damage -- Genuine PCGS. Proof, AU Details. The obverse features an eagle flying to the left, surrounded by 13 stars with the date at the bottom. The reverse shows a wreath with four leaves under the E in STATES. The diameter is similar to a quarter dollar, intermediate between the large and small cents. Struck in copper-nickel alloy (60% copper, 40% nickel) with a plain edge. A softly impressed stone-white and straw-gold specimen. Both fields display clash marks, as made. A planchet streak, also as coined, is noted on the field above the eagle's tail. Despite the PCGS designation, no damage is readily apparent.
