    Description

1855 Cent Pattern, Attractive MS66 Brown
    Judd-167 Flying Eagle Motif

1855 P1C Flying Eagle Cent, Judd-167 Original, Pollock-193, R.5, MS66 Brown NGC. CAC. A flying Eagle cent pattern in a large format, featuring a hooked-neck eagle, slanting 5s on the obverse, and ONE CENT in the center of the reverse surrounded by a thick laurel wreath similar to a Large Cent. Struck in copper with a plain edge. NGC has determined this not to be a proof strike, perhaps because of the rather soft detailing on the central wreath on the reverse. The surfaces are nonetheless well-mirrored and extremely attractive, pale gold and violet on the obverse and aqua on the reverse.

    Coin Index Numbers: (NGC ID# 29AE, PCGS# 11709)

Thanks to Heritage I realized a handsome profit for my coin submissions and intend to send most of the remainder of my collection to Heritage Auction Galleries for future auctions.
