    Description

1855 P1C Flying Eagle Cent, Judd-168 Original, Pollock-193, R.4 -- Environmental Damage -- PCGS Genuine. Proof, Unc. Details. The crook-necked flying eagle on the obverse is similar to the design for the regular-issue Flying Eagle cent. The 5s in the date are slanted. ONE CENT is in the center of the reverse, inside a floral wreath similar to the large cent. The diameter is quarter-sized, nearly midway between the large and small cents. Struck in bronze with a plain edge. This clashed walnut-brown specimen displays glimpses of charcoal patina and has a diagonal pinscratch between stars 6 and 7. A small dig is noted near star 7, and a flan flaw affects the IC in AMERICA.
Ex: Rich Ulrich Collection (Stack's, 2/2008), lot 1703, which realized $1,265.
