    PR64 1855 Flying Eagle Cent, Judd-168

    1855 P1C Flying Eagle Cent, Judd-168 Original, Pollock-193, R.4, PR64 Brown PCGS. The obverse shows a hook-neck eagle surrounded by thirteen stars with the date below. The reverse is similar in design to the Large Cent, but the wreath is smaller. Struck from clashed dies in bronze with a plain edge. Traces of mint red outline peripheral elements, but the fields and devices are toned mahogany-brown. Nicely struck aside from minor weakness on the right-side stars. A shallow strike-through is noted between stars 8 and 9. Housed in a green label holder. Population: 32 in 64, 3 finer (11/07).
