1855 Flying Eagle Cent in Bronze
    Judd-168, PR63 Brown

1855 P1C Flying Eagle Cent, Judd-168, Pollock-193, R.4, PR63 Brown NGC. A Flying Eagle cent pattern featuring a hooked-neck eagle and slanting 5s on the obverse. The diameter is that of a large cent, and the reverse is similar to the issued 1855 cent. It shows ONE CENT at the center surrounded by a circular wreath bound by a ribbon. Struck in bronze with a plain edge. The metallurgical content is clearly spelled out on the NGC insert: 91% copper, 8% tin, 1% zinc. The surfaces are light brown with slightly darker russet streaks across each side. As always, no red is apparent.
